The Big Freeze shows a sharply divided society in Kings Cross with the wealthy living in multimillion-pound apartments, each with their own greenhouse for producing food. Meanwhile teachers, nurses and the like live in crowded conditions in barges on the canal right next door. The story shows how the freezing weather conditions cause these two worlds to collide.
