Pei-Hsin Chen is a multidisciplinary artist. She studied Architecture at Tamkang University in Taiwan and holds a Master’s Degree in Narrative Environments from University of the Arts London in the UK. She tells stories by using various media, such as spaces, events, exhibitions, theatre, images, videos, and such. She has worked in the URS127 Design Gallery, which is the first Urban Regeneration spot in her hometown Taipei, as the executive manager during the course of the Gallery establishment and has been the manager in charge of curatorial executive works. She is also a co-founder and the head of The Seven Plays Theatre Group, constantly producing works in unusual spaces not usual theaters. Her latest works includes illustrations for Poetry “En el umbral de Praga / Na prahu Prahy” authored by Juan Pablo Bertazza; exhibition design, commissioned by OISTAT (International Organisation of Scenographers Theatre Architects and Technicians) at World Stage Design 2017; screen installation “Real Life / Real Time” as a part of the regeneration project at Hsinchu Zoo in Taiwan; winning project “Emoji-Milan” for laRinascente at Milan Design Week 2016; short film “It’s all about Turmeric”, commissioned by Kew Garden in 2015. Her recent research is on how the sense of time and space can be experienced both in physical and virtual worlds in real time.
